REFLECTIONS

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see your own image? Who do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see yourself or someone else? Does your image or reflection show who or what you truly are? But more importantly, who or what does YAHWEH see?

Prov 27:19 states, "As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man." (NIV)

1 Sam 16:7 states, "… YAHWEH does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but YAHWEH looks at the heart." (NIV)

John 7:24 states, "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment." (RSV)

2 Cor 5:12 states, "For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart." (KJV)

2 Cor 10:7 says, "Do ye look on things after the outward appearance?…" (KJV)

Prov 27:1-2 states, "Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips. (NIV)

Prov 31:30 states, " Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears Yahweh is to be praised. (NIV)

Matt 23:27-28 says, "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness." (NIV)

What is beautiful in Yahweh's sight? Feet? Romans 10:14-15 says, "…As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (NIV) This is a direct quote from the old Testament in Isaiah 52:7 which says, "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, your Elohim reigns!" (NIV)

Phil 4:8-9 states, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things." (NIV)

Who are we to reflect in our thoughts, words, and actions? Yahshua our Messiah! Our personality, attitude, and appearance should all reflect Yahweh's Spirit!

Rom 13:14 says, "Rather, clothe yourselves with Yahshua Messiah, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature."(NIV)

Gal 3:27-28 states, "…for all of you who were baptized into Messiah have clothed yourselves with Messiah."(NIV)

Eph 4:21-24 says, "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like Yah in true righteousness and holiness." (NIV)

Col 3:5-11 states, "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of Yah is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of your Creator..." (NIV)

Col 3:12-17 says, "Therefore, as Yahweh's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as Yahweh forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Messiah rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to Yahweh. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of Yahshua Messiah, giving thanks to Yahweh the Father through him." (NIV)

So the next time you look in the mirror hopefully you will 'see' Yahweh's Spirit shining through you. And when others look at you they will see Yahweh's Spirit too! But most importantly Yahweh the Father will see in your heart those things that please HIM!!!
