THE PARABLE OF THE
MENORAH

by Jerry Healan

Have you ever looked at many of the Old Testament scriptures with its detailed descriptions of certain things such as YAHWEH'S instructions on the priesthood, offerings, tabernacle, genealogies, etc., with nothing more than utter boredom at line after line of seemingly unimportant words? YAHWEH had them recorded for a reason. They served as instructions for physical models of heavenly things. Such was the candlestick of pure gold. The following article reveals the heavenly things that the candlestick represented.

When Israel had been delivered from the land of Egypt , YAHWEH brought them to Mount Sinai where they were given the commandments, Ex. 20 and judgments, Ex. 21-23. Moses was then commanded to ascend into the mount to receive instructions on the construction of a tabernacle, Ex. 25-27, the institution of the Aaronic priesthood with its garments and offerings, Ex. 28-31 and the tables of stone containing the commandments, Ex. 31:18.

PATTERNS OF HEAVENLY THINGS

The book of Hebrews reveals that these were earthly patterns of heavenly things, "Now of these things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an High Priest, Who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which YAHWEH pitched and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices; wherefore it is of necessity that this Man have somewhat also to offer. For if He were on earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the EXAMPLE (imitation, pattern) and SHADOW of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of YAHWEH when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, ‘See,’ saith He, ‘That thou make all things according to the PATTERN shewed to thee in the mount’"... "Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of YAHWEH. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the errors of the people: The Holy Spirit thus signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernalce was yet standing: which was a FIGURE (Gk. = PARABOLE = comparison, similitude, parable, proverb) for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation,’... ‘For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, saying, ‘This is the blood of the testament which YAHWEH hath enjoined unto you.’ Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the PATTERNS of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Messiah is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the FIGURES of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of YAHWEH for us," Heb. 8:1-5, 9:6-10, 19-24.

This earthly tabernacle, its vessels, priesthood and offerings served as a FIGURE, PATTERN, MODEL of the heavenly tabernacle. It was like a blueprint for a building, a pattern for a dress, a model of a car, plane, train, etc. The blueprint is not the building nor a pattern the dress but a skilled person can look at a blueprint or a pattern and visualize the finished product. A model car, plane or train is not the actual thing but if a person has seen a model of something even though he has never seen the actual thing, when he comes face to face with the real thing, he is able to instantly recognize it. It is the same with the tabernacle erected by Moses and Israel in the wilderness. It was a BLUEPRINT, DESIGN, PATTERN, MODEL of heavenly things.

The model is no longer with us but its instructions have been preserved, therefore, if we look into the instructions then we should be able to recognize the heavenly item being described.

THE GOLDEN CANDLESTICK

One of the items, or vessels of the tabernacle in the wilderness commanded to be made was the candlestick. It carries a very vital lesson for the people of YAHWEH'S Assembly today, for it represents YAHshua and the assembly as one body, a heavenly marriage. Let us examine this lampstand in order to glean its significance.

YAHWEH'S command to Moses, describing this lampstand or candlestick is found in the book of Exodus, chapter twenty five, beginning in verse 31, "And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops and his flowers, shall be of the same. And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side: Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick. And in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knop and their flower. And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick. Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold. Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels. And look that thou make them after their PATTERN, which was shewed thee in the mount," verses 25-40.

It was very important to YAHWEH that these models be made according to His instructions for they represented heavenly things.

NAME OF THE CANDLESTICK

A. THE ROLE OF THE MAN

The first thing to notice about the candlestick is its name, "Menorah." The word is actually feminine of the masculine "manowr", which means; a yoke (properly for ploughing), i.e. the frame of a loom and is translated, beam, while the feminine word is translated, a chandelier or candlestick. Both words stem from the Hebrew word, "niyr" which means, to break up a fresh furrow, freshly ploughed land as gleaming, to glisten, a lamp, light or candle.

It is interesting to note that while YAHWEH used the feminine word for the candlestick yet in the instructions for its pattern the pronoun "his" is used, see Ex. 25 again.

In an agrarian society the primary occupation for the man is to plow the land while the woman's is to spin flax and wool into cloth. The man, therefore, is primarily responsible for providing food while the woman seeks to clothe.

YAHshua lived in a primarily agrarian society, therefore, many of His sayings and instructions are farm related, for example; "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My YOKE upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto you souls. For My YOKE is easy and My burden (task or service) is light," Mat. 11:28-30.

He likened the work of proclaiming the evangel to plowing, sowing and harvesting; And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto Him, "Master, I will follow Thee whithersoever Thou goest.’ And YAHshua said unto him, ‘Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay His head.’

And He said unto another, ‘Follow Me.’ But he said ‘Master suffer me first to go and bury my father.’ YAHshua said unto him, ‘Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the Kingdom of Elohim .’ And another also said, ‘Master, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.’ And YAHshua said unto him, ‘No man having put his hand to the PLOUGH, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of YAHWEH," Lk. 9:57-62.

And He spake many things unto them in parables, saying, "Behold, a SOWER went forth to SOW," Mat. 13:3. Another parable put He forth unto them saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven is likened unto a man which SOWED good SEED in his field," Mat. 13:24. And YAHshua went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the evangel of the Kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith He unto His disciples, "The HARVEST truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; Pray ye therefore the Master of the HARVEST, that He will send forth labourers into His HARVEST." Mat. 9:35-38. After these things the Master appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, whither He Himself would come. Therefore said He unto them, "The HARVEST truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Master of the HARVEST, that He would send forth labourers into His HARVEST." Lk. 10:1-2.

YAHshua revealed that His Father was the Husbandman (farmer), "I am the true vine and My Father is the Husbandman," Jn. 15:1. The world is His field, "The field is the world," Mat. 13:38. Man, himself, is earth, "He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly...," Jn. 3:31. "The first man is of the earth, earthy...," 1 Cor. 15:47.

YAHshua is the tool, the instrument by which the Father plows the earth, for to plow the earth is to turn it over and YAHshua began His message and mission by crying out, "The time is at hand repent ye, and believe the goodnews," Mk. 1:14. To repent means to turn and so we have the Farmer (YAHWEH the Father) plowing (turning) the furrows of the earth (man) with the plow (YAHshua) in order to sow the seeds (the evangel of the kingdom) which will germinate, grow and bear fruit, seed to be gathered into the kingdom at the harvest.

B. THE WOMAN’S ROLE

The woman’s job indicated by the name of the candlestick is to spin flax, wool, cotton in order to weave it into cloth on a loom for the family’s clothing. Such is the case with the Proverbs 31 woman, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands...She layeth her hand to the SPINDLE and her hands hold the DISTAFF...She is not afraid of the snow for her household: For all her household are CLOTHED with scar- let. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; Her clothing is silk and purple...She MAKETH FINE LINEN, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchants. Strength and honor are her CLOTHING," Prov. 31:10-13, 19, 21-22, 24-25.

John describes the marriage of the Lamb (YAHshua) to the Assembly in the book of Revelation, "And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, ‘Alleluia: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.’ And to her was granted that she should be ARRAYED IN FINE LINEN, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints," Rev. 19:6-8.

It is most important to the Assembly, to every single Believer, that we not be found naked but rather clothed. Such is the message YAHshua sends to two of the assemblies, "He that overcometh, the same shall be CLOTHED in white raiment," Rev. 3:5. "I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be CLOTHED, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear," Rev. 3:18.

Paul wrote, "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of YAHWEH, an house, not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be CLOTHED upon with our house which is from heaven: if so be that being CLOTHED we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we should be unclothed, but CLOTHED upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life," 2 Cor. 5:1-5.

Peter said we must be clothed with humility, "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves one to another, and be CLOTHED with humility: for YAHWEH resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble," 1 Pet. 5:5. Paul added, "But put ye on the Master YAHshua the Messiah, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof," Ro. 13:14. "For as many of you as have been baptised into YAHshua have put on YAHshua," Gal. 3:27.

The Greek word translated "put on" used in both instances here means; "be arrayed," or "be clothed with." We must be clothed with, put on YAHshua for He is our righteousness, "In Thee, O YAHWEH, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: Deliver me in THY RIGHTEOUSNESS," Psa. 31:1. "Judge me, O YAHWEH my Elohim, according to THY RIGHTEOUSNESS," Psa. 51:14. "In Thee, O YAHWEH, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. Deliver Me in THY RIGHTEOUSNESS and cause me to escape: Incline Thine ear unto me, and save me," Psa. 71:1-2.

One of the names of Elohim in the Old Testament was "YAHWEH Zidkenu" which means, "YAHWEH our Righteousness." YAHWEH inspired Paul to reveal that the Elohim of the Israelites, the Elohim of the Old Testament was Messiah, "Moreover, brethren I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Messiah," 1 Cor. 10:1-4.

Paul further reveals that YAHshua is our righteousness, "But we preach Messiah impaled unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Messiah the power of YAHWEH, and the wisdom of YAHWEH...But of Him are ye in Messiah YAHshua, Who of YAHWEH is made unto us wisdom, and RIGHTEOUSNESS, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, ‘He that glorieth let him glory in YAHWEH,’" 1 Cor. 1:23-24, 30-31.

The righteousness of the saints, the fine linen of Rev. 19 that the bride of YAHshua is adorned with is YAHshua, Himself, as both Old and New Testaments reveal. The Assembly of YAHWEH, therefore, as the feminine part of the Menorah, the bride, the wife must perform the task of a wife and mother in making sure her family is clothed and fed. The Messiah confirms this in the book of Matthew, "When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory: and before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth the sheep from the goats: And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, ‘Come ye blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and YE GAVE ME MEAT: I was thirsty, and YE GAVE ME DRINK: I was sick and YE VISITED ME: I was in prison, and YE CAME UNTO ME.’ Then shall the righteous answer Him saying, ‘Master, when saw we Thee an hungered, and fed Thee? Or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? Or naked, and clothed Thee? Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?’ And the King shall answer and say unto them, ‘Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me,’" Mat. 25:31-40.

Is YAHshua speaking here only in a physical sense? I don't think so for He said Himself, "My flesh is meat (food) indeed, and My blood is drink indeed," Jn. 6:55. Clearly it is the function of the Assembly to work hand in hand with the Messiah to provide food (the flesh of YAHshua), drink (the blood of YAHshua) and clothing (we must put on, be clothed with YAHshua) for YAHWEH'S little ones must be cared for, physically yes but much more importantly, spiritually. The sick should be healed and those in prison visited in order to be set free through YAHshua.

The very name, candlestick (Menorah) then, has to do with YAHWEH'S own work, the work of proclaiming repentance, sowing the seeds of YAHWEH'S Kingdom to the world which is the responsibility of the Father to call ( Jn. 6:44), of YAHshua to open the doors for the occasion of the evangel (Rev. 3:7-8), and of the Assembly to prepare food, drink, clothing and comfort for YAHWEH'S little ones.

The name having been somewhat examined now, we must go on to inspect each of the parts of the Menorah for all are representative of heavenly things.

THE SHAFT

The first part of the candlestick to focus on would be the shaft which serves a two-fold purpose. It is, number one, the base or foundation of the candlestick and represents YAHshua in that role for He is the cornerstone and foundation upon which the Assembly is built, "And I say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock (YAHshua, Himself) I will build My assembly; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it," Mat. 16:18.

"According to the grace of YAHWEH which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, WHICH IS YAHSHUA MESSIAH," 1 Cor. 3:10-11. "Therefore thus saith YAHWEH Elohim, ‘Behold, I lay in Zion FOR A FOUNDATION, a stone, a tried stone, A PRECIOUS CORNERSTONE, A SURE FOUNDATION: he that believeth shall not make haste,’" Isa. 28:16. "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrises and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that YAHWEH is gracious. To Whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of YAHWEH, and precious, ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to YAHWEH by YAHshua Messiah. Wherefore also it is contained in the Scripture, ‘Behold, I LAY IN SION A CHIEF CORNER STONE, elect, precious: and HE THAT BELIEVETH ON HIM shall not be confounded,’" 1 Pet. 2:1-6.

The Messiah is the foundation of YAHWEH'S Assembly and government. We are to be building stones, built upon this foundation into the house, temple, dwelling place of YAHWEH, as Peter stated, and even as the Messiah referred to when He told Peter that He, Himself, was the Rock upon which He would build His assembly and Peter was a smaller stone, a building stone, a lively stone to be used in building the building stone, a lively stone to be used in building the assembly which Peter clarified in 1 Pet. 2:1-6.

There is an interesting Psalm to this effect, "Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion : For the time to favour her, yea, the set time is come. Thy servants take pleasure in her STONES, and favour the dust thereof. So the heathen shall fear the name of YAHWEH, and all the kings of the earth Thy glory. When YAHWEH shall build up Zion , He shall appear in His glory," Psa. 102:13-16.

Zion is YAHWEH'S Assembly, His temple, His building, His government. Peter says that we as lively stones are built up a spiritual house which he reveals is Sion ( Zion ). It is interesting to note that the Hebrew word used for stone or stones is #68 in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance. It is written "eben" and means to build; a stone, in other words, a building stone, but it originates from the root of #1129 "banah" which means; to build, to obtain children, and we get from this word #1121, "ben" which means; a son (as a builder of the family name)!!!

What an amazing and exciting truth that is revealed here! We, as living stones, are built into a spiritual house that we may be the sons of YAHWEH, 1 Jn. 3:1, and bear YAHWEH'S name, Rev. 3:12.

The shaft, number two, represents YAHshua as the vine, "I am the Vine, and My Father is the Husbandman. Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in Me," Jn. 15:1-4.

YAHshua the Messiah is the shaft of this candlestick, for He is the foundation and true vine, the beginner and author of our faith, the trunk of the tree so to speak. Without Him, we can do or be nothing. We will wither and die. But if we are attached to Him, grafted in, then we will live and bear fruit.

THE BRANCHES

As YAHshua serves as the shaft, or the vine, we serve as the branches, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without Me ye can do nothing," Jn. 15:5.

The candlestick had six branches, branching out from the shaft, each with its flower which supported the flame while the central shaft supported one flower at its top making seven flowers, seven lights or flames to provide light in the sanctuary which was the candlestick’s dwelling place.

We find the spiritual representatives of these physical branches in the book of Revelation, chapter one, beginning in verse 10, "I was in the Spirit on the day of YAHWEH, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying, ‘I am Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last: and what thou seest, write in a book and send it unto the seven assemblies which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.’ And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned I saw seven golden candlesticks; and in the midst of the seven candlesticks; one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and His eyes were as a flame of fire; and His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters. And He had in His right hand seven stars: and out of His mouth went a sharp two edged sword: and His countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength... ‘The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in My right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven assemblies: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven Assemblies,’" verses 10-16, 20.

The shaft of the Menorah was in the midst of its branches even as the Messiah is in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, the seven assemblies. The Men-owrah was of one beaten work, beaten out of one piece of gold, no physical breaks, all one piece, but the union of the Messiah and the assemblies is an even greater union for it is a spiritual union. A physical union lasts until death or until physical things are destroyed but a spiritual union is eternal. The shaft of the Menowrah and its branches, therefore, represented YAHshua and the assemblies as the vine and branches of John chapter fifteen.

At the end of the branches were the flowers which supported the flame for light. This is the true feminine part of the Menowrah. More about this later.

THE ALMOND BOWLS

The flowers had to be supplied with oil for fuel. Such was the purpose of the almond bowls. There were three bowls for each branch or flower except for the central branch which was directly above the shaft. It had four bowls.

There is significance to these reservoir bowls being shaped like almonds for the almond tree is the earliest tree of the Mid-East to bloom and bear fruit. This typifies YAHshua as the firstfruits, "But now is Messiah risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Messiah shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Messiah the firstfruits; afterward they that are Messiah's at His coming," 1 Cor. 15:20-23.

The almond meat is good for food even as YAHshua said that His own flesh was good for food, "I am the Bread of Life...For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh and drinketh My blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in Him," Jn. 6:48, 55-56.

This takes us back to the name of the lampstand also for the first part of the word "Menorah" comes from the Hebrew word "man" translated as "manna." Manna was the bread from heaven that YAHWEH gave to Israel in the wilderness which sustained them for the whole forty year period (Ex. 16, esp. verse 4; Psa. 105:40, 78:24).

The Jews of YAHshua's day reminded Him that their fathers had eaten this manna, "They said therefore unto Him, ‘What sign shewest Thou then, that we may see, and believe Thee? What dost Thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from Heaven to eat.’’ Then YAHshua said unto them, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of Elohim is He Which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world....I am that Bread of Life,’" Jn. 6:30-32, 48.

The manna, just as the menorah, was a type of heavenly things. In this case, it was a type of YAHshua the Messiah, Who is the true bread from heaven. The manna of old was used to point out to and guide Israel to YAHWEH'S seventh day rest. YAHshua is the true bread from heaven that leads us into YAHWEH'S ultimate and final day of rest, the 1000 year millenial rule and beyond into eternity.

The almond meat also yields oil when pressed or beaten, which is valuable for medicinal purposes. Isn't this an analogy of The Messiah's sore trial and pressure which He came under at the end of His earthly life? He endured mockings, beatings and whippings so that we might be healed. "Surely He hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of YAHWEH, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed," Isa. 53:4-5.

The almond bowls, therefore, represented the Messiah Who is the Firstfruits of the Kingdom of Heaven . Whose flesh is true (spiritual) food and by Whose stripes we may be healed (physically but especially spiritually for the physical flesh must eventually perish).

Interestingly enough, when Aaron’s priesthood was challenged, Moses was commanded to take twelve rods representing the tribes of Israel with Aaron's name written on the rod of the tribe of Levi. YAHWEH promised that He would cause the rod of His chosen priest to blossom, Lev. 17:1-5. The rods were placed before the tabernacle and the next morning as Moses entered he found that Aaron's rod had buds, blossoms and fruit, specifically almonds, verse 8. Aaron’s priesthood was a forerunner, a type, pattern, model of YAHshua's priesthood.

YAHshua, Himself, likened false prophets to wolves, thorns, thistles and trees, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree can not bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them," Mat. 7:17-20.

YAHshua is the good trunk, vine, shaft, rod, tree. He shoots forth branches that bud, blossom and bear fruit, good edible fruit or food (His flesh) which causes the one who eats it to be healed of spiritual sickness and darkness and live forever (spiritually).

His priesthood is the Melchizedec Priesthood. It will soon be planted on this earth and will bud, blossom and bear fruit even much more than it has borne in every true believer’s life today.

He is the firstfruits of the kingdom. The almond tree blooming first and bearing early fruit would represent Him as the firstfruits. Aaron’s rod bore almonds designating his priesthood. The Menorah had almond bowls. Surely these bowls would represent the Messiah as the firstfruits, the Priest and provider of the Assembly for the bowls held the oil which supplied the flower its power to burn brightly lighting the tabernacle.

THE OLIVE OIL

Pure olive oil, beaten out of the olive was to be used to fill the almond bowls providing fuel for the light, Ex. 27:20. The oil is symbolic as a type of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit which was not made available until after the Messiah's sufferings (beatings and death) and resurrection, "The Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that YAHshua was not yet glorified," Jn. 7:39 (last part). "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send it unto you," Jn. 16:7.

The olive being beaten to yield its oil would represent the Son of YAHWEH'S sufferings and beatings in order to make the Holy Spirit available to man.

The olive tree was so prolific in the Mid-east during Biblical times and had such a variety of uses that it was known as the king of trees. At coronations its oil was employed as an emblem of sovereignty. The oil was used as a base for many salves and ointments, as a dressing for hair, a fuel, a medicine and food. To the Oriental and Hebrew it was a symbol of beauty, strength, divine blessing and prosperity.

From the time of Noah, the olive tree and the dove have been venerated as symbols of friendship and peace, Psa. 52:8, Gen. 8:ll. When the Messiah was baptized the Holy Spirit actually descended upon Him in the form of a dove (Mat. 3:16, Mk. 1:9-11, Lk. 3:21-22). What fantastic analogies of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit!!!

The almond bowls were the reservoirs for this oil which was fed through tubes to the seven flowers at the end or tip of the lamp’s branches. Isn’t it plain to see how the almond bowls represent YAHshua, Who is the reservoir, the supplier of the Holy Spirit to the Assembly?

The oil is also a symbol of YAHWEH'S name for we read in the Song of Solomon, "Because of the savour of Thy good ointments Thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love Thee," 1:3. The word "ointment" is translated from the Hebrew word "she-men" which means, grease, especially liquid (as from the olive, often perfumed), oil, olive, etc.

It is interesting that ointment (olive oil) is associated with the name and also virgins for we find in the book of Revelation, chapter 14, 144,000 firstfruit virgins who are sealed with the name of the Father of the Lamb (v.v. 1-4).

The Holy Spirit is the seal of YAHWEH. Upon repentance and baptism one is sealed with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) which is the earnest (2 Cor. 1:22) of our inheritance (Eph. 1:12-14).

Those who are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise are to be given salvation and restored to a condition of virginity, purity, cleanness. The Holy Spirit seals them with the saving name of the Heavenly Father, YAHWEH!

THE FLOWERS

The flower was the true feminine part of this candlestick for we all know that the flower is that part of any tree or plant that must be fertilized or pollinated in order to reproduce. The flowers then are representative of the seven Assemblies which are illuminated by the Spirit of YAHWEH to proclaim the evangel.

YAHshua told His disciples, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Which is in heaven," Mat. 5:14-17.

The flowers received the oil from the almond bowls and thus provided light for the sanctuary. It is the duty of the assembly to provide light, food, warmth and comfort to YAHWEH'S little ones. YAHWEH'S people are able to rejoice in the light, delighting in and performing works of light. We must, therefore, provide light for the world also.

Which brings us to another part of the word "menorah." Menorah also has another key Hebrew word contained in its make up. That word is "owr" or "owrah" from which comes our word "aura." They all mean the same thing, illumination, luminous, to give light, etc.

THE FLAME

YAHWEH first manifested Himself to Moses in a flame of fire out of a burning bush, Ex. 3:2-5. He led the children of Israel out of Egypt as a pillar of a cloud by day and as a pillar of fire by night, Ex. 13:21-22.

When He manifested Himself to Manoah and his wife, the father and mother of Samson, as they offered a burnt offering and a meat offering, He ascended into heaven in the flame of the altar (Judg. 13:1-20). Paul wrote in the New Testament, "For our Elohim is a consuming fire," Heb. 12:29.

The Messiah said that the light of the body is the eye (Mat. 6:22, Lk. 11:34). His eyes are as a flame of fire (Rev. 1:14, 2:18). The body is the Assembly of which YAHshua is head (Col. 1:18). He is our light, our flame, the One Who enlightens us so that we may see spiritual things. The flame would represent YAHshua as Master, as Head, as the Husband of the Assembly.

When the Holy Spirit was given on the Day of Pentecost it, "...appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them," Acts 2:3.

The Holy Spirit kindled a zeal in them that caused them to boldly proclaim the wonderful works of YAHWEH in all tongues. They were so bold and zealous, in fact, that some accused them of being full of new wine (Acts 2:4-13).

When a man and woman truly fall in love, their hearts burn for each other. No one else can take their place or will serve as a substitute. They only have eyes for each other. The word "flame" can mean an intense emotion; stong passion; a sweetheart (Webster’s New World Dictionary).

YAHshua is the Assembly’s flame and He should be held up high for all to see. When we are called and baptized unto YAHshua, receiving the Holy Spirit, a light is kindled in us. That light is YAHshua. It should burn increasingly brighter with each passing day, week, month, year, decade, etc.

YAHshua admonished, "No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light," Lk. 11:33.

Of course, this brings up one more concept. Since YAHshua is the base and the flame, interestingly enough, if the base is the beginning then the flame would be the ending or last part, representative of YAHshua as the "Beginning and Ending," the "First and the last," the "Author and Finisher."

YAHshua said, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending,’ saith the Master, ‘Which is, and Which was, and Which is to come, the Almighty...I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last...," Rev. 1:8, 11.

The alpha and omega are the first and last letters of the Greek language. Since YAHshua came to fulfill the Scriptures and the Scriptures were given to Hebrews in the Hebrew language, YAHshua would have used the first and last letters of the Hebrew language which are the aleph (a) and the tav (t).

The importance in understanding this is found in the Hebrew word for truth which is "emet" (tm,a/). Notice that the Hebrew word for truth begins with the aleph (a) and ends with the tav (t).

YAHshua said that He was the truth, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me," Jn. 14:6. The Hebrew word He would have used here is "emet" (tm,a/).

Another Hebrew word which describes the character of YAHWEH and YAHshua is faithfulness. This Hebrew word is generally written as "emunat" (t.n"Wma/). This word also begins with the aleph (a) and ends with the tav (t).

Psa. 40:10 says, "I have not hid Thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared Thy faithfulness (emunat) and Thy salvation: I have not conclead Thy lovingkindness and Thy truth (emet) from the great congregation." David did not keep these things hidden, but rather declared them to those of his day and they were recorded for all the generations to follow.

We read, "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Messiah YAHshua; Who was faithful to Him That appointed Him, as also Moses was faithful in all His house," Heb. 3:1-2.

It is our duty to openly declare the faithfulness of our Savior in Spirit and truth, for He is the Beginning of our faith, our hope, our power to enter into life and He is also the One Who will complete or finish it. YAHshua is our aleph and tav, our truth, our light and our faithfulness.

YAHshua is our rock, our foundation and He is the crowning glory of our light. Let us seek to allow that great light to shine brightly and boldly to all that we possibly can.

THE FRUIT

The combination of flower, oil and flame would be symbolic of marriage and that by the Holy Spirit. A flower, when pollinated, bears fruit and seed. A marriage produces offspring. What kind of fruit does this candlestick portray that it bears?

#1, Children of light! "While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be CHILDREN OF LIGHT," Jn. 12:36. "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now ye are light in the Master: walk as CHILDREN OF LIGHT," Eph. 5:8. "YE ARE ALL THE CHILDREN OF LIGHT, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness," 1 Thes. 5:5.

#2, Children of YAHWEH! "For ye are the CHILDREN OF YAHWEH by faith in Messiah YAHshua," Gal. 3:21. "Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master Messiah YAHshua, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Messiah. According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: having predestinated us unto adoption of children by YAHshua Messiah to Himself according to the good pleasure of His will," Eph. 1:3-5. "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the CHILDREN OF YAHWEH: and if children, then heirs; heirs of YAHWEH and joint heirs with Messiah; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be glorified together," Ro. 8:16-17.

#3, Sons of Elohim! "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the SONS OF ELOHIM, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure," 1 Jn. 3:1-3. "For as many as are led by the Spirit of YAHWEH, they are the SONS OF ELOHIM," Ro. 8:14. "But, when the fullness of the time was come, YAHWEH sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, YAHWEH hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts crying, abba, Father. Wherefore, thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of YAHWEH through Messiah," Gal. 4:4-7.

Do we not see, therefore, how YAHWEH'S people, the branches, His assembly, the flower, must be a willing vessel to receive and be led by the Holy Spirit in order for the flame, our true light, YAHshua the Messiah, to ever burn brightly for the whole world to see and glorify Him. We must hold up our light, our flame for all to see!

PURE GOLD

The candlestick was of pure gold, of beaten work. The pure gold, symbolic of glory, preciousness and purity. Exodus 25:31 states that the shaft, branches, bowls, knops and flowers would be the same, all alike, one work, "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Master YAHshua the Messiah: WHO SHALL CHANGE OUR VILE BODY, THAT IT MAY BE FASHIONED LIKE UNTO HIS GLORIOUS BODY, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself," Phil. 3:20-21. "Beloved, now are we the sons of YAHWEH, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM; for we shall see Him as He is," 1 Jn. 3:2. "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby: if so be ye have tasted that the Master is gracious. To Whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of YAHWEH, and PRECIOUS, YE ALSO, AS LIVELY STONES, ARE BUILT UP A SPIRITUAL HOUSE, AN HOLY PRIESTHOOD, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to YAHWEH by YAHshua the Messiah," 1 Pet. 2:1-5.

YAHWEH chose the pure gold as a physical earthly pattern, model or type of the heavenly, spiritual qualities which are much more precious than gold (1 Pet. 1:7).

The properties of gold may well be worth looking into in order to come to see why and how it was used to represent spiritual qualities. Gold, of course, is considered by man to be a most precious and sought after metal. Many have suffered extreme hardship, privation, poverty, sacrifice, loss of homes, families and life also as they have hungrily searched for the lustrous and elusive metal. Why? For the simple reason that to find a gold mine will make one fabulously rich. If one can strike it rich, then he can have all those things restored that he had to sacrifice and lose in order to search for the precious metal, and so much more.

Doesn't this remind us of the Messiah's own words and parables? "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it," Mat. 13:44-46.

The Messiah promises time and time again that if one is willing to lose his life for the kingdom's sake he will find it but if he seeks to save his life in this world and age, he will lose it (Mt. 10:39, 16:25, Mk. 8:35, Lk. 9:24, 17:33).

Desiring the Kingdom of YAHWEH and His spiritual qualities are shown to be better, more precious than fine gold, "The judgments of YAHWEH are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold," Psa. 19:9-10. "The law of Thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver," Psa. 119:72. "Therefore I love Thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold," Psa. 119:127. "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold," Prov. 3:13-14. "Receive knowledge rather than choice gold; and all the things that may be desired are not compared to it," Prov. 8:10-11.

What have we found in these scriptures that is better than the finest gold? YAHWEH'S judgments, law, commandments, wisdom, understanding, instruction and knowledge.

Peter reveals one more thing that is better than fine gold. The trial of faith of the true believer is more precious than fine gold (1 Pet. 1:7). The Messiah counsels one of the seven assemblies to buy of Him gold tried in the fire for the assembly considers itself to be rich (abounding) and increased with goods (has valuable bestowment) and in need of nothing not even knowing that it was wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked, Rev. 3:17-18.

How does one buy gold of the Messiah tried in fire? Peter reveals that fiery trials will try (prove) a true believer leading him to glory and unspeakable or exceeding joy (1 Pet. 4:12-13). Looking again at 1 Pet. 1:6-7, the trial of faith comes through manifold temptations. If we look at the method for refining gold we might come to see more clearly the idea expressed in 1 Peter.

GOLD’S REFINING QUALITIES

Gold is refined by fire. The heat causes the metal to melt and as it does, gold being very dense and heavy, will sink to the bottom of the mold while the impurities or dross rise to the top and is scooped off leaving pure gold.

The heat from the fire can be likened to fiery trials. The dross can be likened to manifold temptations. The dross is in the gold just as temptations or lust is in us, our flesh. James says, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing...Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which YAHWEH hath promised to them that love Him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of YAHWEH: for YAHWEH cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man: but every man is tempted of his own lust and enticed," Jas. 1:2-4, 12-14.

In the same manner that dross rises to the top when the gold is melted, lusts, temptations well up in us and as the dross is scooped off by the refiner, we must submit to YAHWEH our Refiner crying to Him for the power to be cleansed and purified through the shed blood of the Lamb. When we do so, being patient until the work is completed, we will be purified, for we must endure till the end of our life or the end of this age, whichever comes first.

SOFT, MOLDABLE, PLIABLE

Another property of gold is that it is a soft metal. It is easily molded in a skilled craftsman's or jeweler's hands. It is pliable, flexible, easy to bend to the Master's will.

Gold and potter's clay are similar types of this property in the Holy Bible, look at Lam. 4:2, "The precious sons of Zion , comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!"

Potter's clay is soft, moldable, easy to fashion and work with in the potter's hands as he shapes and molds it into its predesigned form. Surely a potter has a shape and design in mind before he begins his work and YAHWEH, the Master Potter, most certainly does not begin His work on His clay with no real purpose in mind.

The prophet Isaiah was inspired to cry out, "But now, O YAHWEH, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our Potter; and we all are the work of Thy hand," Isa. 64:8. Paul also wrote, "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour and another unto dishonour?" Ro. 9:21.

YAHWEH'S purpose today is the calling of many sons to glory (Heb. 2:10). He is taking earthen lumps of clay and is fashioning sons for His own family. We, as lumps of clay, must yield ourselves into the hands of the Father, the Master Potter, lowly, humble, soft, moldable, pliable, easily influenced or persuaded by His truth. What is truth? "Thy Word is truth," Jn. 17:17. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. The same was in the beginning with Elohim. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made...and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth," Jn. 1:1-3, 14.

Clearly these scriptures show that the Messiah, the Word of Elohim, is truth. He must be our influence, our pattern by which we must live. How soft, how malleable, how moldable must we be? One gram of Gold (it takes 28-1/2 grams to equal one ounce) can be drawn into a wire two miles long. One ounce of gold can be beaten into 750 leaves, each leaf being 3-1/2 inches square. One ounce of gold has been beaten out to cover 300 square feet!

BRIGHT AND LASTING COVERING

This brings us to another property of Gold for it is used to cover or plate over other more common metals and items (such as wood and stone) thus beautifying and adorning. Gold is highly prized for its lustrous quality which seems to endure over the ages.

The Messiah, Who endures for all eternity, had emptied Himself of His heavenly power and glory. Being made a man, He humbled Himself even unto death on a tree so that His shed blood might cover the sins of man, of the whole world from Adam until the earth is no more, excluding, of course, the unpardonable sin (Phil. 2:8, Jn. l:29, Jn. 3:16).

This sacrifice is a key to the evangel, the good news, for without His redemption none can inherit YAHWEH'S kingdom. YAHWEH'S true Assembly, therefore, must be proclaiming the truth of the Messiah as Saviour, Redeemer, Firstfruits, King, Master, High Priest and Elohim of the Kingdom. She must be an aide, a tool in the hands of YAHWEH, in calling out a people from this world, having their sins covered, atoned for and being adorned, clothed with YAHshua, Whose power it is to be a covering of eternal, everlasting value shining brightly in the image of YAHWEH.

ENERGY CONDUCTOR

Another quality or property of gold discovered in these latter days is that it is an excellent conductor of electrical power or energy. Isn't this like unto the quality of YAHWEH'S true people, His children and His assembly, for we must be possessor's and conductor's of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit, power from on high. "In the last day, that great day of the feast, YAHshua stood and cried, saying, ‘If any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of His belly shall flow rivers of living waters." (But this spake He of the Spirit, Which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that YAHshua was not yet glorified)," Jn. 7:37-39. "And, behold, I send the promises of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high," Lk. 24:49.

The power from on high, the Holy Spirit, the oil from the almond bowl (YAHshua) was sent to the Assembly (the flower) on Pentecost thus illuminating the disciples, lighting the flame of fire, so that the sanctuary, YAHWEH'S called out Assembly might have sons and become sons of light, "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them," Acts 2:1-3. The Messiah, of course, possessed the Holy Spirit without measure, John 3:34. Olive oil has an amber (gold-like) color when gathered together in containers.

Our chief desire should be to have these spiritual qualities, qualities which gold enumerates, but so much greater. We should desire refinement into YAHWEH'S pure, clean, holy ways, having all dross, sin, evil desire, lust purged from us. We should possess the quality of submitting totally to YAHWEH'S truth, being malleable, soft, pliable in order to be fashioned like unto our older brother and head, YAHshua the Messiah, turning away totally from falsehood, deceit, our own traditions, forsaking anything that is contrary or contradictory to the truth.

We must be possessors and conductors of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit in order to work the works of YAHWEH in this day and age, yea in every age, submitting to and obeying YAHWEH in order to allow His light and our light to shine forth brightly in a dark, dreary world, showing the love of YAHWEH that He has toward us, back to Him and out to our neighbor so that our brothers in this world might be able to see the light and have opportunity to approach it.

We should desire the shining, lustrous, untarnishing quality that causes one to gleam brightly in purity, cleanness, holiness from age to age for all eternity. The true precious faith of exceeding value that attests to the great works and promises of the unfailing, mighty YAHWEH Whose abiding place is in the heavens.

ONE BEATEN WORK

There is one more area, one more pattern that the candlestick portrayed, which has been dealt with some, but must be seen more clearly. The lamp was of one beaten work. Being one denotes a spiritual marriage and as has been previously pointed out, the Lamb and the Assembly are to be wed (Rev. 19:7-9).

The Messiah, Himself, revealed that, in marriage, the man was to leave his father and mother, cleaving to his wife and they twain would be one flesh (Mat. 19:3-6, Mk. 10:2-12). This is a repeat of the words recorded in the book of Genesis, chapter two, verse 24.

YAHWEH caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, took one of his ribs and closed up his flesh. He then made a woman out of Adam's own rib. Scientists today would be inclined to call Eve a clone except that Eve, being fashioned in the image of the man, was made different sexually, for the purpose of reproduction.

The point is that even though made a separate individual, Eve was made from, came out of a part of the man. They were, therefore, one flesh, of the same flesh and made, not to stand separately, but to complement one another.

A physical pattern of the spiritual realm exists here for the book of Genesis states, "In the beginning YAHWEH created the heavens and the earth," Gen. 1:1. The Hebrew word for YAHWEH is Elohim. It is a plural word from Eloahh, which means, diety, mighty one, etc. Eloahh is singular but the singular was not used in Gen. 1:1 nor in many other scriptures but the plural Elohim.

The Messiah said, "I and My Father are one," Jn. 10:30. Did He mean that He was the Father and the Father was He, Himself? No! The scriptures clearly show that while the Messiah was here in the flesh, the Father was in heaven. He prayed to the Father and stated that His Father was greater then He. He meant that He and His Father were exactly alike. They had the same spirit, purposes, goals, desires, intents, plans, name, etc. They were two individuals but there was no difference between them, none. They are one Elohim.

The man and his wife are to be one pair, one couple, one family, two individuals, but one flesh, complementary, loving, serving one another.

Paul described the Assembly as being many members, yet one body (1 Cor. 12:12, 20). He said that it is the body of Messiah (verse 27). He further revealed that YAHshua is the head of the body, Eph. 5:22-32.

If we are members of the body then we begin to share the same spirit, purposes, goals, desires, intents, plans, name, etc., with YAHWEH. We must become at one with Him so that if anyone sees us, they see the Father. We must be made ready for marriage to the Lamb, to be one with Him eternally. This is the promise of YAHWEH and the hope of all His saints.

It isn't easy though. The Messiah was hated and persecuted most of His life beginning with events soon after His birth when Herod tried to slay Him. For His safety and protection His family had to flee to Egypt . Even after Herod was dead and the family was able to return to Canaan, they were in fear of Herod's son, so they had to leave Judea moving into the environs of Galilee .

Things seemed to settle down until His ministry began. Then immediately after His baptism, the devil began to sorely tempt and persecute Him. He was continually maligned and persecuted by the Pharisees and Saducees until the end of His ministry when the persecution had turned into such deep and bitter hatred and resentment that He was betrayed, falsely accused, mocked, beaten and impaled.

The lampstand was one beaten work. Could this have served as a pattern of the suffering, humiliation and beatings that the Messiah went through? Since the lampstand was a pattern of the Messiah and the Ekklesia, the Assembly, wouldn’t that also represent YAHWEH'S people suffering with Him? "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of YAHWEH: and if children then heirs; heirs of YAHWEH, and joint heirs with Messiah; if so be that WE SUFFER WITH HIM, that we may be glorified together," Ro. 8:16-17. "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice inasmuch as YE ARE PARTAKERS OF MESSIAH’S SUFFERINGS; that when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy," 1 Pet. 4:12-13.

Those who "truly" follow the Messiah in this day and age are suspicioned, hated, persecuted, considered as social outcasts. Such were the sufferings of YAHWEH'S people in ages past, the Messiah and His disciples also as the New Testament reveals. If we think for one moment that we live in such an enlightened, educated, liberal day and age which is not capable of such things then we deceive ourselves and are not realizing the powerful control that Satan has over this world nor the potential evils and cruelties of fleshly, carnal man.

SUMMARY

This is the pattern of the lampstand as complete as I can see it at this time. I am sure that much more could be gleaned from even more careful perusal of the scriptures, but there are many more things to look into. For example, we know that YAHWEH'S sevenfold Holy Spirit is also called the Spirits of YAHWEH, and they are portrayed in Revelation 4:5 as seven lamps and in Revelation 5:6, as seven horns and seven eyes on the Lamb.

Rev. 4 (5) And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of YAHWEH.

Rev. 5 (6) And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of YAHWEH sent forth into all the earth.

With this being the case, is it possible that the seven pronged Menorah placed in the sanctuary of the tabernacle in the wilderness as well as the seven eyes on the stone and the lampstand with the seven lamps with seven pipes on it which Zechariah saw in vissions (Zech. 3:9 & Zech. 4:2), also represent the seven Spirits of YAHWEH flowing through the entire beautiful vessel and that which the vessel represented?

In summary, the lampstand was a beautiful vessel placed in the sanctuary of the tabernacle in the wilderness, a physical, earthly model of spiritual, heavenly things.

The very name "Menowrah" denotes the work of YAHWEH and His called out Ones in proclaiming the evangel of Light, calling, feeding and clothing the Saints, the Assembly with YAHshua.

The base represented the Messiah as the foundation upon which all of YAHWEH'S works are built, the true beginning of all things. The shaft represented Him as the vine and/or tree. The almond bowls as the Firstfruits, Who is able to supply all Our needs, especially the Holy Spirit as well as His power to heal and save.

The flame represented Him as Elohim and Light, the Light of men. Interestingly enough if the base is the beginning then the flame would be the ending or last part, representative of YAHshua as the "Beginning and Ending," the "First and the last," the "Author and Finisher."

The branches represented YAHWEH'S Chosen People growing from the trunk or vine and the flower, the Assembly in its feminine role of being pollinated and bearing fruit unto the Kingdom of YAHWEH, Children of YAHWEH. The flower, the assembly holds up her betrothed, her husband, her flame for all to see as a light to shine forth purging away and overcoming all darkness.

The pure gold represents, the preciousness and eternal glory of brightness in holiness of those Who are called and overcome.

It is of one beaten work denoting unity, eternal marriage of YAHshua and His Assembly, as well as the sufferings endured by Him and His People. What a beautiful model, blueprint, design for Us to look to in order to grasp the vision of the Kingdom of YAHWEH and the world tomorrow. Let Us pray that We are a part of this beautiful work. What an Honor! Let Us pray for the true, complete lampstand's appearance on this earth, that the true Husband and Wife may reign together, shining brightly for all to see, to come to, in order to be fed and clothed none making them afraid. Let Us pray that that combination of Lamb and Bride might be able to soon let their light of truth shine in order to beget the Sons of Light, the Children of YAHWEH, the Sons of Elohim. Let Us pray, "Thy kingdom come." HALLELUYAH!!!!!
