S.A.Y. Torah, Haftorah, and Renewed Covenant Readings 2010

In effort to bring about collaboration and unity, we are providing this Scriptural reading plan so that we can have harmony within the assembly and for those brethren who join us via the internet on a weekly basis. The reading plan is set up so that any member of the body of messiah, no matter what vocation will have plenty of time to participate in this important endeavor. Daily Scripture reading is not an option for the believer and it is a must for those that are seeking spiritual growth. We therefore encourage all believers to follow a daily reading plan or study the scriptures per topic so that through YHWH’s word you will be encouraged to lead a righteous life.

By providing a daily reading plan and subsequently a Sabbath reading plan, it will affords us the opportunity to study the material beforehand and thus to participate in our open Torah discussions which are part of our Sabbath services.  We are not suggesting that this is the only reading plan that you should follow or that you should not read or study more than what we have provided. The basis for this reading however will afford you the ability to witness a connection with what is being read throughout the week and what material will be covered on the Sabbath.

Although our assembly only keeps the festivals that are mentioned in Lev. 23, we recognize that some brethren also observe holidays which are commonly called ‘Jewish Holidays’, Purim, Chanukah, etc. We therefore have also chosen to include a daily reading plan during the common days for celebration. We do encourage all believers to become familiar with all of the holidays that have become a part of the Jewish history. Remembering of course that the Holy Days which are mentioned in Leviticus 23 are not recommended they are commanded and that they were not established by man but by our Heavenly Father YHWH!

The proposed reading schedule below includes the triennial cycle of scriptures for the Torah portion to be read on the weekly Sabbath. Therefore, the reading of Torah on the Sabbath is typically only 1/3 (one third) of the actual Torah portion for the week. The remaining 2/3 (two thirds) are meant to be read during the week leading up to the Sabbath. Haftorah and Renewed Covenant readings are included as part of the Sabbath lectionary but may be read at any time during the preceding week.

*When the Sabbath readings are exceptional in length, the readings will be split between erev Shabbat (Friday night) and during the Sabbath Services. In addittion there will be addittional readings on the Holy Day Festivals of Yahweh and during the Feast of Tabernacles the entire book of Deuteronomy will be read.
